* How to Become an Official

To cut a long story short, Miles Newman has put together the manual on how to become an Official and what you need to do to STAY qualified.  The Australian Sports Commission claim it to be the BEST submission they have seen and for the second time it has achieved Best Practice certification.

GRADING OF GAMES

For accreditation and upgrading purposes games are grouped into grades.  This is to ensure that officials who work more intense games receive credit for that level against their accreditation progress.  Lower grade games cannot be used to accredit to high level accreditations.  

The Grade of any game is to be confirmed by the senior AGOA official present to AGOA or the state GOA as part of the Game Report.  Variations from the following will need to be justified.

Games are graded as follows:

Junior/Colts Representative Teams

·         Junior / Colts Selected / representative teams

State senior competitions, inter-league club championships

·         No selection beyond club level involved.

Accreditation to Level 3

Currency - all Levels

Senior Representative Games

  • Senior National Championships, International Matches
  • Where the teams are a selected team representing a league or state and have been trained specifically to play in a representative manner against similarly selected and prepared teams 

Updating for Level 3
