House Rules - Lethal Damage

Improvised weapons, fists and grappling do non lethal damage.

Brutes who take lethal damage and are hors de combat have a 50/50 chance of being dead.

Against Henchmen and Villains however the rule is that:-

(1) a henchman is knocked out when his or her dramatic wounds equal resolve;

(2) a villain is knocked out when his or her dramatic wounds equal resolve x2;

(3) if a henchman or villain takes one more dramatic wound than the above, then they are usually dead;

(4) if in knocking out a henchman or villain, an exploding damage die is used, then that will usually kill them too;

(5) a player character may always call a raise when attacking to avoid an accidental kill as per (4) above;

(6) (3) or (4) above generally do not apply to unarmed attacks, although some knacks like throat strike etc are essentially lethal and apply the usual rules.

(7) the referee reserves the right to fiddle with the above guidelines for the sake of the story or drama!
