OK, stifle your yawns, here goes...

I was raised in a muddle of backwater villages and towns in heartland New Zealand. While NZ seriously can't be beat for pristine beauty (just look at LotR!), as soon as I could, I heaved on a backpack and spent a couple of years exploring Asia, Europe and Africa. I went overland most of the way, living and travelling under local conditions (you know, elephants through the jungle, crocodiles down the Zambesi, that kind of thing). Adventures do come to those who search for them.

I have had more jobs than most people have had hot dinners: working in shearing sheds, on docking boards, breaking horses and nannying as a kid then going on to be a legal junior, legal secretary, receptionist, stevedoring clerk, wharfie labour allocator, house cleaner, bank clerk, art gallery receptionist, accounts clerk, security person, switchboard operator, envelope stuffer, filing clerk, clerk who issues credit cards after a vague credit check(?), bulk chemical purchaser, receptionist, teacher, webmaster. Oh, I give up!

In the last 14 years I have lived in Tauranga, Frankfurt, London, Auckland and Sydney before finally stopping off in Melbourne. I started writing in 1999. I write science fiction and comedy and everything in between for children and adults and everything in between. I also present a science fiction program to gifted, talented and highly able children for a private organisation.
