Wednesday October 13 Lions Dinner Meeting at Maroubra RSL  Guest Speaker Barbara Holborow from Care for Children.   Barbara Holborow is a tireless children's rights campaigner and has written a collection of short stories from the cases she dealt with during her years on the Bench. The book is called "The Good, The Bad, and The Inevitable".  Having served 12 years as a magistrate and more than 30 campaigning for a major shift in juvenile justice, there's not a lot Barbara Holborow hasn't seen when it comes to young criminals and abused kids

No one knows more about children in trouble – and how to keep them out of trouble – than Barbara Holborow.  For twelve long years she was a Children’s Court Magistrate, confronted by both the best and worst humanity has to offer.  She saw the abused and the abusers, the pathetic, the humorous and the tragic.  Barbara’s compassion and outspokenness became legendary during her time at the Bench

Saturday October 30  Trocadero  Dancing show sponsored by Lions Club of Sydney North West   Venue: Riverside Theatre Parramatta, Corner Church & Market Streets, Parramatta Show time: 7:30pm to 9:30pm with 20 minute intermission..Ticket price: $30 each  Net income will be donated to The Children’s Hospital at Westmead.
