Yours truly.

Starting out from the street where I live. My house is behind the large fence on the left.

Turning onto Stradbroke Avenue.

The first point of interest is this roundabout. I go right. Some cars go straight ahead, some even try to overtake IN the roundabout. <sigh>

This is Wynnum Road once it become an 80km/h zone. Not much shoulder, but not much traffic either.

Approaching Tingalpa Pub, which is just past the lights and around the corner on the right. For some reason the lights here are always red when I get there, and stay that way for a loooong time.

Just past the pub. This section has just been widened to three lanes and a 'bicycle advisory lane' (read subwidth bikelane) added. The good thin about this is that the extra lane on the left ends about 300m beyond this point, so motorist don't see any point in even entering it, which leaves it ALL TO ME HAHAHAHAHA! ...ahem...

More of the Wynnum Rd. bike lane. The lights you can almost make out up ahead are the scene of many an attempted left hook.

Hey! Where's the bikelane gone? Actually, it starts again just past the shopping centre on the left

and then ends again just before Morningside, never to be seen again.

Lovely Morningside. The bikelane ended a ways back. Clearly there just isn't room, and you don't put bikelanes down when there isn't room.

Another choice left hook location.

Traffic was unusually light here on this day.

The bus lane, or 'LANE BUS', provides a bit of breathing room on the way to the top of Galloway's Hill.

The top of Galloway's Hill. Traffic as thick as ever. Time to draw the lane-split card. Glad I ain't drivin'.

'Climbing' Shafston Ave. The left lane turns left up ahead, so not many vehicles use it. I try to get into the next lane reasonably early as the speed of the traffic in the leftmost lane is significantly higher, and there isn't much room to pass.

It's a shame my camera is so lo-res. You can't really make out the bumper to bumper traffic all the way over the bridge.

Damn. Second attempt isn't much better.

The Story Bridge. The cars are probably only going 5-10km/h faster than I at this point, despite the slight climb. In fact, I'm passing the traffic in the left lane.

Leaving the Bridge for a welcome breather at the lights on Ann Street.

A couple of turns...

...gets me to Adelaide Street. My office is just beyond that bus.

The Final Goal. Note the nice bike enclosure Bechtel built for us. I don't even carry a lock any more. The sign says 'Bechtel Bicycle Enclosure. Please Keep Clear.'

Continue on to The Ride Home.

        I ain't buggered. Really I ain't.
