Mission Debriefing
Sergei (Craig), Sasha (Wendy)
and Karl ( Andy) after checking the local news services, they find a bit of
local news about a new recruitment base being set up in Bania Rodna, a small
town some 50k out of the Khorobor.
They set about using
the PC to check for any information about the place. Logging into the military
web site they decide that it is not a good idea to try to hack from this PC.
So jumping into their
TX-500 sedan they make there way into Khorobor from their safe place, an
abandoned mine sight, it takes them about 30 minutes to drive the 25k into town,
park and then find a Cyber-Café, called Wizzen.
Karl pays for the use
of a PC, talking his way to have a private booth, and then continues to distract
the clerk whilst Sasha using a Hack card brakes into the PC to allow her to
access restricted sites.
After a short time she
is in and then attempts to hack a back door into the military’s server to gain
some information. She gets in but only to a single folder, and she learns that
the base has no automated defence systems and no minefields, but does have an
electric fence surrounding it.
They leave the place
and head to the small town using a road map.
On entering the town
they pull over into a fuel station and refill the hydroelectric fuel cell. They
enquire about the recruitment place and find out that it is just out of town to
the south. So they drive to just after town and then walk using the scrub as
cover. It is night so they use their night-vision equipment.
Sergei unloads his
combat gear before leaving and then tactically looks around for good sniping
spot.
They spot, using the
binoculars, a guard standing near the front door and an armoured defence tower
on the roof of the large warehouse looking building. Sergei sets up and the rest
head back to the hide out. A quick comms check and they are set.
They travel back in the
Hum-vee with the trailer on the back loaded with the large Mecha. Some good
navigation and driving allows them to get within a 1km of the town and then
Sasha gets into the Mecha and Karl drives up to the front gates.
He tries to get the
guard to open the gates but he is not convinced and orders Karl out of the
Hum-vee, he has his SK-95 pointed at him. (It is the same weapon as an AK-47).
Karl decides to get the
drop on him and fires his miniaturised internal laser rifle located in his
cybernetic arm at him, luckily he gets the drop on him and a burst of automatic
laser fire drops the guard.
Sergei attempts to
shoot the tower guard but misses, then next round almost drops his rifle and
then next round misses again.
Mean while…..
Sasha has gotten out of
the trailer and moves around to the front, another guard has smashed a window at
the front and burst fired at Karl. Who has dropped and rolled under the Hum-vee
for cover. Sasha Mecha, named Arnie, burst fires at the guard, cutting a great
number of holes in the front wall near the window. I am allowing weapons to fire
through cover, just reducing the damage by the hardness of the material.
The guard goes down.
Arnie fires at the main
gate a couple of times and finally destroys it. Karl uses his jet pack to fly up
to the now vacant tower. Sergei runs towards the front gate, it takes him a
couple of rounds. He succeeds in a balance to run over rough terrain.
Arnie uses her Enigma
sensors and reports that 6 more are inside. One is on a higher level than the
others, who are to the rear of the building.
The bad guys inside get
their armour and weapons whilst this is going on. And then raise the main doors.
Several bursts of small
arms, grenades and rocket launchers happens, but the Mecha is not hit or if it
is the damage is below the DR of the structure. It strides into the main room
firing.
Meanwhile Karl has
landed on the metal roof and flash seals the trap door into the building. The
guy on the second floor hears him land and moving, and fires a burst into his
general area. A bullet hits him and also hits his jet pack destroying it.
Luckily it did not hit the fuel cells.
Karl sneaks out of the
defence tower, a burst soon hits the tower again but he is not there. He sets up
a magnetic tag and repels down the side of the building.
Meanwhile inside the
building, even more grenades and bursts fly, but still no damage to Arnie. She
sees one guy prone firing and moves over punching him. He gets up but can get
away and then the next round as he tries to move away again, Arnie's fist goes
right through his brain.
Sergei has set up prone
next to the Hum-vee and readies and action. He misses; it is not his day today.
A burst from inside sets up a bad guy and he hit him. Finally he hits something,
but the guy does not die.
Karl uses his fusion
torch to cut through the wall and then walks in bursting the guys behind the
crates firing at Sergei but they are able to get out the way. They fire back; he
dodges out the way as well. He retreats back into the room he came through. They
lob a grenade into the room, which he does not get out the way of and it shreds
him, staggering him. He moves out of the building and next round readies an
action. Luckily he moved out of the room as they lob yet another grenade into
the room. A bad guy follows him out and a burst from Karl’s gun staggers him.
Karl intimidates him and he surrenders.
One of the bad guys has
gone to the comms room and is now calling for help.
Arnie walks over to the guy
in the defence post and attempts to punch him. She misses. The guy pulls the M60
off the holder and gets out.
Sergei has stood up and
come into the building. The only bad guys left are the one on the catwalk and in
the back room.
Sergei sets up to shoot
the guy as he come down the stairs but the bad guy sees him move under and
decides to jump off the cat walk, only 10’. He lands perfectly and lets a
burst off, but Sergei gets out the way. Sergei tries to double tap but he also
misses. And they are only 15’ apart.
Arnie bursts the guy
and he dies.
They know the guy is in
the back room as Arnie’s sensors show him back there. Sergei and Arnie move to
the door. A burst flies out through the door as Arnie gets close, but still no
damage.
Sergei opens the door and
Arnie bursts the guy, killing him and destroying the comms equipment.
Meanwhile the prisoner
is handcuffed and taken to the Hum-vee.
They find a secret
floor area. A search finds a trap. So after much debating they decide to have
Arnie just pull it open. Sasha could have disarmed it but they thought that was
a bad idea.
The C4 goes off, this
time damaging Arnie and also destroys what ever was inside the floor safe.
They now decide to get
out of town, gathering all the bodies weapons and ammo. A quick look and they
find a case of grenades too.
Packed up they drive
off.
In the rush Karl gets
his bearing wrong and they go the wrong way. About 5 minutes later they hear but
can’t see a helicopter approach the base.
The park the Hum-vee
and move into position just in case they are spotted. They give the grenade
launchers to Karl and Sergei, Sasha climbs back into Arnie.
Meanwhile they
completely forget the prisoner.
