Mission Debriefing
The helicopter circled around the town for a few hours. A couple of hours into that, a convoy of four vehicles drives into town.
A little bit later, the helicopter leaves the area where the party are and then the party continues on. Due to the excellent navigation skills of Karl, the party ends up off course.
The prisoner is too weak and too low a level to come up with any plans, so he hopes that they will release him. He is just an 18yr old.
In the morning, Karl is able to get his bearings and they head in the right direction.
Some hours later, the group sees an explosion ahead. As the come along the dry creek bed, they are confronted by a scene of four enemies on a ridge attacking a blown up jeep. Two figures crawled from the wreckage and are firing back at the four on the ridge.
Karl spots one with a rocket launcher and using knowledge current events, realises they are Thrall Military.

Karl inspires the group and Sasha brings the Hum-vee to a halt.
The TM fires at the two crouched behind the burning vehicle and only hits the car. The two behind the car are Viktor (a NPC) and Nataliya, a new character. Viktor throws a smoke grenade towards the TM to create cover. Karl gets out of the Hum-vee and moves up the bank. Sergei gets out and draws his weapon, they both drop prone. Sasha move around to the back of the trailer. Nataliya fires around the corner at the TM but misses. TM fires at Karl, misses. Viktor runs south and drops prone. TM bursts Karl for 10pts, he is in trouble. Using an action point, he saves so no damage. He gets behind cover and falls prone.
Sergei double taps and hits TM doing 20pts damage, TM is staggered.
Sasha climbs into Mech (Arnie). Nataliya attempts to fire without luck. Staggered TM withdraws slightly. TM throws grenade behind burning car, Nataliya gets 13pts damage.
Viktor misses burst fire on TM. TM burst fires back, Viktor saves.
Karl fails to spot and remains behind cover. Sergei fires at staggered TM and hits.
Arnie starts up. Nataliya spots two TM attempts burst fire, no luck. TM fires at Nataliya, hits the car with rocket launcher and destroys the cover. Nataliya gets burst damage for 6pts.
Viktor burst fires TM and hits. Other TM fires at Nataliya but luckily misses. Karl takes out binoculars and looks around corner of boulder and sees TM prone in smoke of the burning vehicle and he ducks behind cover. Sergei crawls forward but spots nothing (with a roll of 19) as they are around two hundred feet away, he readies an action. Arnie moves forward twenty feet but can’t see any enemies, so readies an action. Nataliya burst fires and the TM dodges.
TM fires at Nataliya and misses. Sergei uses readied action but misses.
Arnie bursts but TM saves. Nataliya fires but misses. TM fires rocket launcher at Arnie but misses and hits the bank thirty foot behind.
TM near car fires burst at Nataliya but misses.
Karl fails to spots TM near car but sees TM on the ridge on ridge and bursts. He hits a TM.
Sergei double taps TM but misses and attempts to hide.
Arnie is still too far to hit so bursts but misses.
Nataliya spots the TM in the smoke and bursts, but misses.
TM fires at Viktor but Viktor dodges the burst. Viktor returns fire and hits TM and kills him.
TM on ridge moves behind cover on ridge.
Karl finally spots TM in smoke and fires a burst and hits, TM is staggered. Karl drops prone.
Sergei moves forward but can not spot anything.
Arnie can’t see anything and runs forward.
Nataliya fires but TM dodges. TM hides behind last bit of the car for cover.
Karl stands up but can’t see anything so readies an action.
Sergei runs along right hand ridge to last position of the TM on the ridge.
Arnie uses Enigma and finally spots TM behind the car. So burst fires through the wreckage and kills the TM.
Nataliya stands and moves up to the ridge line.
Karl ends his combat and using diplomacy talks to Viktor.
Sergei moves across the northern valley but still can see the TM which moved away north.
Arnie moves forward and so does Nataliya.
TM has strapped on a jet pack and takes off.
Sergei attempts to sunder the jet pack with a couple of shoots but misses. TM gets away.
COMBAT OVER CR 7
The party finds out that Viktor is the leader of the local resistance group, The Um-Hat Freedom, and they decide to join.
They strip the bodies of the Land Warrior armour and laser rifles, pistols and some other gear, like a GPS.
They find the rally point and recover the 3 remaining jet packs. They then drive into town and drop off the Viktor and Nataliya joins the group to help fight the Thrall military.
Karl successfully navigates back to the hidden base.
They interrogate the prisoner, but he is young and he has no info. Sergei shoots him.
Party rests up and everyone returns to full health.
During this time, Sasha has not been able to restore the jet pack destroyed at the warehouse.
Sergei is concerned he has not heard from his sister lately. He calls her several times with no answer. The party decides to go and look for Sergei’s sister Anna.
They decide to leave the engine immobiliser connected but fit a cut off switch, also installing a compartment to hide weapons within the Hum-vee.
Karl successfully navigates to the town of Antanov. As they get closer to the town, it appears deserted, boarded up windows etc. They pull up to a refuelling station and Sergei gets out and scouts the town. The rest stay at the refuelling station. There is a new car there and a search finds the tyres slashed and a receipt for recent work done. Karl remembers that s series of vicious murders occurred in this town, some three years ago. The bodies were fed into a wood chipper.
Sergei arrives at his sister’s house on the other side of town and thinks he saw some movement at some nearby building. After searching her house and finding that they had left suddenly as dinner plates were still on the table, he goes to investigate the nearby house where he saw movement. He finds the back door now open and waits outside.
All the party now hears a metallic sound coming from the western side of town. Nataliya and Karl head toward the noise and when they get to a house, it sounds like the noise is coming from the rear of the house. They move along the side of the house and the sound stops. They call from Sasha who had remained with the Hum-vee to come at once. Sergei also starts to run over to them. Nataliya smashes a window and enters the kitchen.
The house seems in good condition but the back yard grass is heavily overgrown and the hedge around the house and yard is too.

A man is ragged clothes charges out of a hiding spot and claws Karl who suddenly stops moving as if frozen. Arnie is now ready for action and shoots at the human but misses and suffers a system overload in the gun. Nataliya enters the living room and spots two more raggedly dressed humans and throws a grenade doing little damage, 8pts. Sergei runs around the hedge and spots the fight in the living room. The ragged human grabs Karl and runs away, Arnie runs after them.
Nataliya burst fires but only partially damages one. The two ragged humans attempt to grapple Nataliya; she stops one with a blow, the other misses.
Another ragged human hiding in the long grass outback runs towards Sergei. He steps back, double taps but misses. The chase continues as the ragged human drags Karl around the other side of the house.
Nataliya bursts and misses the one behind the wall but cuts the one in the doorway in half.
The ragged human enters and tries to grapple Nataliya. The ragged human outside steps forward, attempts to grapple but it hit by Sergei’s rifle butt, so fails the grapple. It attacks again and it succeeds. Sudden coldness comes to Sergei and he stops moving as if frozen.
Sasha restarts Arnie’s M21 auto-laser and moves forward still chasing the human and Karl.
Nataliya moves forward to the front of the house, spots the ragged human attacking Sergei and shoots and kills it.
Arnie fires but misses the ragged human as it drags Karl further away. Nataliya gets to the front of the house sees through a window the ragged human dragging Karl away, fires and hits.
Arnie fires but misses again, still too far away. Nataliya shoots and misses, they can see that if they miss again, the human will make it to cover behind another house.
Arnie fires and misses but Nataliya hits, dropping the ragged human. They bring Karl back into the house and after a few minutes, both Karl and Sergei recover.
They cure some of Karl wounds.
