The Art of BELLY DANCE

No other art form is so imbued with the power and spirit of the feminine than that of BellyDance. The natural moves, the nurturing qualities, and the dancing from the heart and soul, are a welcome expression of the feminine experience.

The movements and exercise refine the entire physical body and its functions most effectively. The rolling and undulating movements gently work the muscles and joints in a full range of motion, and at the same time, massage away tensions.

Vibrations, shimmies, and more energetic movements aid in eliminating excess energy and stress while aerobically working the system. Movement has long been used in the East to facilitate a communion with the Divine.

If BellyDance is something you've always wanted to learn, but you've never got off your arse to do anything about it... then what's stopping you now??

I've only been learning this Art for about a year and a half, and I am certainly not a professional performer by any standards! However, I know enough moves to be able to put something together to impress my family or friends!! And I have the greatest time doing it!!!

Surprisingly enough, from just participating in one 1.5 hour class per week, and practising at home on average of an hour a week... in my first year of learning BellyDance, I lost 9kgs !!!

I did not do anything else different - I did not change my diet at all!! (And man, I eat way too much chocolate!).

Goes to prove how important exercise is as part of a balanced, healthy diet.
