"Red Rain"

My children, I shed many tears
as my heart bleeds for you

They flow and fall as a soft rain
upon my face, my beautiful terrified face

My children I drink your blood
and the blood of your children

I have no choice, You insist
on spilling it upon my body

Leaked from the Innocent victims
of a man made race of madness

to what? for what?
at who's expense? for how much longer?

one half of you fears death
one half of you fears life

both of these gifts I have given you
and they are mine alone to give as I please

am I not already violent enough for you
what compels you to dare to compete?

i could crush you with a single swipe
of my hand but i chose not to

Instead I chose to love you all
for, my children, I am the Great Mother

Is it not a mothers job to nurture, and love
no matter what her children do

Yet remember also is it a mothers job
to intervene out of desperation

Love is my message and even though you cause me
to weep in agony, I cannot abandon you

Instead I can only attempt to open your eyes
prying them open slowly, deliberately

but to give sight to the blind is difficult
when they themselves have no desire to see

So all I can do ss shed my tears
let them roll down my face, fall upon my body

And as they splash down upon you,
stop, and listen, and enjoy the cool rain.

Only this time know that you are being drenched
by the blood of your own innocent children.

What do you chose?
I chose love.

For now.
