Recently, Jarrod (aka Sickly Blade) received his daily email from GameSpy. It seemed just like any other edition of GameSpy Daily, except for one little thing (cue drumroll)... THEY MENTIONED CLAN .404!!!!! If you'd like to have it in quotation form, here it is:

"Important news for Half Life DoD Players: DoD players watch out!! New clans such as [ds] and [.gx2] are storming through the levels and basically kicking our butts. Especially the new [.404] clan (only 2 WEEKS OLD). The leaders (this hasn't been confirmed) are Cyber Felon, Sickly Blade and Indifadable. These guys will cane you so watch out!! For regular updates on the progress of [.404] and his team of die-hards, stay tuned."

When Jarrod first sent me this (in html form, might I add - yes, I have actually seen it with my own eyes), I just couldn't believe it! In as little as a couple of months ago, Clan .404 was just a rough idea I had one school lunchtime. I went up to Jarrod, whom I had just recently introduced to the wonders of Day of Defeat, and said to him excitedly "WHY DON'T WE START A CLAN?!". He quickly agreed and now 'the phenomenon' so to speak had been started.

What I don't understand, though, is how in the hell did GameSpy, the ruler of all things game-related, get to hear about us? We're just a little Australian clan for a relatively new mod who have had very little time to develop and suddenly praises are being made towards us in emails that get sent the world over. Who has commented to them? Why? Are we really that good? This email posed many new questions to me - I never pictured us, or any clan for that matter, being at the top of a GameSpy Daily email!

As they mentioned at the end of their comment, they will keep following our success. How they will do that is beyond me but I am definitely privileged to be part of this clan. Keep visiting the site for more updates on what people are saying about us and how we perform into the future.
