Dutton Bay Tramway Locomotives

Additional Locomotives

The DBT has a number of locomotives in various stages of completion, waiting to be released for service. There are no photographs of these locos in DBT colours.

54 - a "Dave Frary/Brick Price" loco which runs on a Lifelike SW9/1200 chassis. An etched brass kit awaiting construction. (One day I will brave enough to pick up my soldering iron).

56 & 59 - A pair of smallish (28-tonne) Baldwin (that's E.M.Baldwin, not the famous US loco builder) bogie locos. These will be used on lighter duties on the DBT. Like the EIMCO, the bodies are from Queensland, the castings being produced in a collaboration between Peter Ford and Tom Badger , assembled by David Rowe and then painted by Peter Knife. The locos are in the "shops" for final detailing, installation of couplers and decoders. The mechanism is that from the LifeLike SW9/1200.

9 - another E.M.Baldwin, this is a 6-wheel shunting loco. This loco, the body of which is a casting produced by the same guys in Queensland, will run on a Bemo 6-wheel loco which comes complete with outside frames and a jack-shaft drive. This photo shows the original model and the cast body. Obviously there is painting and detailing needed, before installing a decoer and couplers. It should be an "interesting" project. It will look wonderful "waddling" along the track.
