October Group Meeting
Friday October 8 - 8.00pm

Alison Wells, Oxfam Community Aid Abroad's HIV/AIDS Advocacy Coordinator will be speaking to us in October. Alison will bring us news of how Oxfam is working around the world to bring awareness and prevention of HIV/AIDS to affected communities. Alison has recently returned from the World AIDS Conference in Bangkok and will update us on trends and developments discussed there as well.

"Flog your watch for Sudan"

Oxfam Community Aid Abroad is calling on Australians to auction their watches, clocks or anything they can spare to help raise desperately needed funds for the Sudan Crisis Appeal, as time is running out for the people of Sudan. Andrew Hewett said "Australians can help stop the clock for over a million people suffering in Sudan and Chad by auctioning their watches or anything they have and donating the proceeds to our Sudan Crisis Appeal". Kozminsky, the Melbourne based jeweller is donating one of their beautiful timepieces to Oxfam Community Aid Abroad for auction on eBay. All proceeds will go to the Sudan Crisis Appeal. Check out the Kozminsky auction on eBay, and make a bid or even run your own auction and sell your own watch, clock or collectable.

Christmas Tree Volunteers Needed

Brian Moran will be operating the Christmas tree fundraising project again this year from mid November onwards. There will be a need for several volunteers to assist in various ways leading up to, during and after the actual tree delivery. Volunteers are not expected to help everyday, but to be available for a few days here and there. The project raised over $50,000 last year. Call Brian Moran on 9497 3227 if you would like to help out.
