Christmas BBQ
Final Gathering 2005
Friday December 9th
6:30 pm onwards
7 Mays Rd Eltham

The Diamond Valley Oxfam Christmas BBQ will be held at Beth's place again this year. Bring your own meat and drinks and a salad to share, and enjoy a relaxing evening with friends.

Tea and Coffee and Cards will be available to purchase. We will also have a final collection of food for the Asylum Seeker Resource Centre for this year.

Eltham Festival

At this years festival our sales were only half what they normally are and we would like comments from anybody who was there as to why this might have happened.

Possible explanations might be due to the clash with Eltham Market, the positioning of the stall, emphasis of commercialism on the event or lack of patronage at the festival. We really need to discuss these things before committing ourselves in 2006.

Please send comments to either Beth or John by email, phone or letter while it is fresh in your mind.

Oxfam Christmas Trees

If you have not yet ordered your tree, you can do so via the internet at www.fitzroyoxfam.org.au or by phone 9289 9438 between 10:00 am to 4:00 pm Tuesday to Saturday, up to December 5th.

Walk Against Want
Sunday March 5th 2006
Committee Progress Report

With the route chosen and requests for permits in with the relevant authorities, the Committee is exploring whether it may be feasible to organize an afternoon tea at the Guide Hall (Start/Finish for the Walk) for people who walked in the very early Walks.

Would any group members know of any walkers from those days?

The first Walk, forty years ago, was from Melbourne to Frankston overnight. This would have been unforgettable for those involved!

It would be great if we could locate any brave supporters who participated. Contact Cathie Roby 94399527

[Ed: Please start contacting anyone you know who has been on the walk in the past to join us for this final walk]
