Make Poverty History Trade Justice Walk Friday December 9, 12:45pm State Library of Victoria,
Join the Make Poverty History Coalition for the campaign's final hurrah for 2005 as we call on our leaders to make trade fair to help make poverty history.
The following week governments are meeting at a crucial World Trade Organisation Ministerial in Hong Kong and we need to keep the pressure on to ensure they make the right decisions to help end poverty for good.
We are calling on all campaign supporters to join us as we walk from the State Library via Swanston and Bourke Sts to the Honorary French Consulate and then via Collins St to the UK Consulate. At the Consulates we will undertake a symbolic dumping of agricultural products from our caravan of donkeys and make a presentation to Consulate staff.
The walk will commence at 12:45pm on the State Library lawns on Swanston St with a presentation by Oxfam Australia Executive Director Andrew Hewett and conclude around 1:45pm at near Treasury Gardens.
So come along, bring friends and wear some white. Make Trade Fair = Make Poverty History.
If you need more information please contact myself on the details below, or Terry (Community Campaigner) 9289 9332 or email terrencer@oxfam.org.au
