Next Meeting Friday 10th June Michael Gordon News Editor at The Age
Many of you will have read Michael's recent features in The Age, dealing with asylum seekers on Nauru. Michael is the only journalist ever given access to these people and was able to talk to them freely and to photograph them. We are extremely pleased that he has agreed to come and talk to our group and that at last we will get some truthful insights into their conditions.
We will be able to "swap stories" so to speak, with those of us who have been writing to these asylum seekers. If you have letters from asylum seekers you have been writing to or other material, please bring them along.
As Michael has also been covering the recent Reconciliation meeting in Canberra, it will be a chance for some feedback on this subject too.
Definitely an evening NOT TO BE MISSED.

Bouquets
Floral Tributes and Chocolates (in name only) to all the magnificent people who helped make our Tsunami Bookfair such a huge success--$10,124 plus. (Will we ever be able to live up to this record ?). To all those who helped collect and sort books, to those who gave books, and to the setup team, the sales team, the clean up team and the take away team--THANK YOU !
It brings such feelings of satisfaction and delight to see it go so well, and create such a result.
Nearly forgot--Special thanks to the Advertising Team especially John K and his email and contact with the media, Don for signs, and Rod for not just one, but two VW advertising vehicles, so that not matter in which direction you were heading, you would see a sign.
