LOVING KINDNESS FOR BURMA INVITATION To a Report Back to Supporters By Jill Jameson on her recent visit to Burma Friday 29th February 7:30-9:00pm at Warrandyte Community Centre (168 Yarra Street, on corner with Webb St.) Cost: $10 per person, (to cover costs) All donations are most welcome, even if you are unable to come!
Following our successful fund-raising dinner in Warrandyte in November and the visit by the Buddhist delegation to Burma last December we would like to show you some of the images and tell you about some of the dedicated people we met. We also want to pass on grateful thanks from the people with whom we shared your generous donations. The delegation, in bearing witness to the suffering of the people, was also inspired by the extraordinary courage and kindness we experienced in so many places.
Jill will give a presentation, to be followed by a speaker from Burma, with time for questions and discussion.
It is important to keep the spotlight on Burma, and to do all we can to encourage the process of reconciliation as well as continuing to respond to the ongoing humanitarian needs. We have seen some of this work and now have the channels for responding.
We are continuing to raise funds for: · The political prisoners and their families; · Education for the poorest children in the monastic schools.
· All funds raised will be sent directly to Burma. Please let us know as soon as possible if you are able to come. Phone 9844 2289 (Jill) and 9439 1835 (Denise)
In grateful thanks, Jill Jameson and Denise Nichols

ASRC FOODBANK
Happy New Year to all of you in the Food Action Network! The holiday time was really great at the ASRC, especially at Foodbank where the donations were flowing. Thanks so much to all of you who made a special effort at this time. It's so exciting for us all at Foodbank to have truly full shelves, and it's obviously even more so for all the members.
There really was a festive feeling about the place. Anyway, as you're all well aware the new year has begun and Foodbank faces the reality that not every month is December. We're still managing to keep up the essentials, but it's far from comfortable. I know so many of you are doing so much, and I'm hoping that some of you who dropped out of the donating loop last year might like to rejoin now.
I'm not going to bang on about this. We need a few more of you aboard. If you've been teetering on the brink, try going without a few of your staple foods, or any alternatives, for a week. Then imagine not knowing when you're going to be able to have them next! We're very hopeful about the new Federal Government, but for now it's business as usual. See you at Foodbank.!
