TONY MORTIMER'S SHOCK AT GIRLS ALOUD COVER EAST 17 star TONY MORTIMER was shocked when he heard British group GIRLS ALOUD's version of his hit STAY ANOTHER DAY, because they had given it a romantic slant even though it is about his brother's suicide.
Mortimer, 35, insists he loves the girl band, but wishes they'd left the deeply personal song alone. No date found: NME.com

Walthamstow boyband play together for first time in a decade
East 17 played a one-off reunion gig at the London Shepherds Bush Empire last night (May 30).
The four-piece stormed through their hits, including 'Steam' , 'House Of Love' and 1994 Xmas chart-topper 'Stay Another Day' .

The band closed the show with new song 'Wild' .

East 17 members reunite for concert
Boyband East 17 reunited for a one-off gig in London last night, only months after old rivals Take That decided to reform.
According to reports, East 17 members Tony Mortimer, Brian Harvey, John Hendy and Terry Coldwell were joined by Shola Ama at the concert at Shepherd's Bush Empire in London.
Hendy reportedly said that the group would consider working together again if they got a good reaction to the gig.
Singer Harvey appeared to have made a full recovery after being seriously injured in a freak car accident last year, which left him in a coma after being crushed under the wheels of his own car.
East 17 split up in 1997 after notching up 16 top 40 hits, including 'Stay Another Day' and 'Around The World'.

EAST 17 ADMIT FASHION MISTAKES |
|
|
Flamboyant British boy band EAST 17 have branded their 1990s videos and stage shows fashion disasters, but don't regret experimenting with street wear. The baseball-capped four-piece from London insist their outrageous outfits were no worse than US hip-hop acts of the time, but admit their wardrobe memories are a little embarrassing now. Band member JOHN HENDY says, "Hats! What was I doing?! "You look back on it and think, 'Oh, maybe I shouldn't have done that,' but I think everything worked back in the day. "You can't have regrets because it's there now and it stuck. "All the hip-hop acts were doing it... MC HAMMER. They were all wearing big hats and funny-coloured clothes."
