Farseer on jetbike

This is just a rough guide to some of the materials and methods used to convert the Farseer on a jetbike.

Due to the large amount of images used for this conversion, I've divided this article up into two separate pages, One page for the Farseer and one page for the jetbike. This page will deal with the jetbike.

Whenever I have mentioned the specific place I've bought certain items, I've also tried to provide some kind of contact address whenever possible.  My giving out addresses shouldn't be seen as an endorsement of these businesses, but rather an attempt to make things easier for those people wishing to use some of the same materials that I've used.

This conversion of the Farseer will need the following materials:

1 Eldar jetbike
1 Battlefleet Gothic Eldar Shadow cruiser.
1 Battlefleet Gothic Eldar Nightshade destroyer.
200mm of 1.5mm diameter music wire
White Milliput
Epoxy glue

Below is a list of tools used for the conversion:

Jewellers saw
Drill press
1.5mm drill
Large pliers
X-acto knife
800 grit Emery paper
Small files

First, the back of the jetbike was cut off.

The next step was to file off the end off the Shadow cruiser fin.

A notch was then cut into the seat of the jetbike, to allow the fin's middle point to sit neatly.

The Nighshade fins trimmed of the connecting flange.

The Nightshade fins were then drilled (1.5mm) and pinned with 1.5mm music wire.  The pinned fins were then glued into the jetbike exhaust scoops (that had their original fins cut off).

The join was then filled in with Milliput (blue arrows)

The red arrow indicates the modification and notch that needs to be made to this part, to allow the new engine to fit into place

The lower part of the Shadow cruiser body was cut like this

The shuriken catapults were separated.

and then glued to the lower half of the Shadow cruiser.  The exhausts indicated by the red arrow were also filed down

The top of the engine of the original jetbike was separated from the rest of the jetbike and then glued to the top of the lower half of the Shadow cruiser after it was joined to the back of the jetbike

The front and back of the jetbike were joined together by first drilling into each part with a 1.5mm drill and then pinning them together with a 20mm lenght of 1.5mm thick music wire.

The middle point of the fin fits neatly into the notch of the seat (blue arrow)

Tail and rear joined

Gaps were filled with Milliput.

After the top the handlebars, rear fins and engine top were glued into place the model was primed.

Primed, completed jetbike (without carapace).

The nose carapace was left off to show how all the parts fit together
