Karandras

spacer.gif (56 bytes) Phoenix Lords are the most ancient of Exarchs. For all intents and purposes, Phoenix Lords are immortal because when one is killed, the dominant Eldar spirit (the first and greatest to wear the suit) that inhabits the spirit stone in the suit of armor that they wear takes over the next Exarch to wear it.

Karandras is not the first of the Striking Scorpions. The first Striking Scorpion was Ahrha who succumbed to the lure of Chaos.

TACTICAL SUGGESTIONS:

Karandras comes with the following Exarch powers, Crushing Blow, Stealth and Surprise Assault.

He also comes with the following wargear, Biting Blade, Scorpions Claw (the same as a powerfist but it has a shuriken pistol built into it) and the Scorpion’s Bite (the same as mandiblasters but at strength 5).

Karandras is fearless and when he leads other Striking Scorpions, he inspires them so much that they also become fearless.

Karandras with his powers and wargear is the perfect choice to lead a squad of Striking Scorpions to either take out tanks or to spearhead assaults on enemy lines. The Exarch power of "Stealth" is also very useful to get near enemy tanks if the mission allows it.

A squad of striking Scorpions led by Karandras is perfect for attacking large numbers of lightly armored troops such as Imperial Guard or Dark Eldar. Such a squad would also be useful against any Orks that break through your lines.

Obviously you want to get such a powerful squad in grips with the enemy as soon as possible and in one piece. Putting Karandras and his squad into a Wave serpent will increase their chances. I’d suggest that you screen any vehicles with Karandras in them, with Vypers or other Wave Serpents with supporting troops in them.

Because of the effectiveness of such a powerful squad, it is a good idea to disembark them near to 2 enemy squads so that you can charge two squads at a time. The reason why you would want to do this is that you don’t want to be left out in the open if you were to kill all the members of one squad (a distinct possibility).
