Kitten Contract

Below is the standard Kitten Contract we use at Emmel. We will send the contract (2 copies) out to you, complete with details of sire, dam etc. These are to be returned with the $100 non-refundable deposit, with one copy then returned to you as a receipt.

Sales Contract

The following agreement is between the "Seller", and ___________________________________, hereafter referred to as "Purchaser".

In consideration of a purchase price of four hundred and fifty dollars ($450), the Seller transfers all rights, responsibilities and ownership of the cat described as of the date specified below. A deposit of $100 (bank cheque or postal order) is required to secure the kitten.

All kittens, unless negotiated beforehand, are sold as pets. The registration papers will show that this cat is to be neutered and not to be bred with. Anyone breeding with a cat for desexing will be in breach of contract.

All kittens will be registered with FCCQ and their pedigrees will be available upon written proof of desexing of the kitten.


This kitten is believed to be in good health, but the Purchaser is strongly advised to take it to his/her veterinarian surgeon within two (2) days of purchase. This check, and any tests or examinations associated with it, must be at the Purchaser's expense.

If your veterinarian surgeon finds any disease, injury or defect that will significantly shorten the expected lifespan of this kitten you will be given your choice of a full refund of the purchase price or a similar animal in exchange.

If your vet should suspect on that visit that your pet in incubating a potentially fatal disease, please ask your vet to contact the Seller to ask that this guarantee be extended to a second consultation within 7 days or purchase.

Before purchase, the Purchaser should consider that a kitten is a living thing, which may become a much loved member of the family in a short period of time, and this may affect what you wish to do if return of the kitten becomes necessary. The Seller cannot be held responsible for the distress or upset caused by the return of a kitten after drawing your attention to this possibility.
