Mis-spelled words and mis-placed apostrophes pop up everywhere, speaking volumes for what now passes for education in the English language.

It seems that the people who paint advertising signs and shop fronts etc don't check the dictionary if they're unsure of a word, whilst the print and electronic media apparently work from their own set of grammar rules.
