Members Field Night at Whites Hill Reserve

The usual Rocket Display put on by Tony Surma-Hawes. Thankfully the wind was mildly gusty and no real problem. Unfortunately Tony has not learnt his lesson with his rockets, as the last person granted the honor of pushing the button for him lost it. We searched for hours in the thick grass to no avail.

This time we're made sure we wouldn't loose any by using only A8-3 engines, the lowest powered. We're sure it was a miss labeled engine as Red Rocket soared higher than all the others we launched. It caught the wind and sailed towards the tall trees. Everyone searched; bearings were taken and used, but no luck. White's Hill Reserve has eaten another rocket. Some say it's the Bermuda Triangle for Rockets, others blame Bruce.

Ready

Up!

Down...

Recovered!!!!

The Red Rocket just newly put together.

Red Rocket was launched by Bruce
and was never seen again.

The Clouds know we're here and want to look at the Sky. The last 2 years we've suffered spectacular storms.

After dinner an informal January meeting was held.

Updated on the 24th January 2001
No rocket launched went higher than the legal limit of 300 feet.
