27th and 29th May 2003

As this planet continues toward superior conjunction, which occurs in the August, it passes within 2.2 degrees of Mercury on the 27th of May, then two day later the Moon forms a triangle with these objects, all within 3 degrees of each other.

These views occur at 5:30am in the morning twilight, low to the north-eastern horizon.
