Saturday 5 September Fundraising Queen Lainie and Membership Chairman John at the Father's Day Raffle Draw.

I would like to thank everyone for their assistance with our two major fundraising projects.

Firstly the movie night was a great success and the feedback received so far has been nothing but positive so looks as though every one enjoyed themselves. Aged care research remains an underfunded essential service and in some form or another will effect each and every one of us in the future so to be a part of raising funds for the institute is a real privilage. We raised an incredible $1,335. Sandra Forster and Holly from the Institute will visit our Wednesday night meeting and a cheque will be presented to them.

Secondly our Father's Day Raffle. After many long cold hours endured by John at the Square we raised a fantastic $1754.05 and a great thank you to our friends who also gave up their time to assist us to sell tickets both out of and at the Square this money will surely look good in our Activities account. YAHOO!

Saturday 12 September Inaugural Charity Mayoral Ball announced by Cr Bruce Notley-Smith, Mayor of Randwick at the Maroubra Changeover. $150 per person.

Tuesday 22 September District Governor's Visit Hosted by Sydney French Lions Club

Prepare for a great night of fun and sensational food at the Moroccan Restaurant, Souk in the City on 5/431 Bourke st. Surry Hills on Tuesday the 22nd of September at 7pm for 7.30pm for DG Beryl Payne's visit.

Please mark the date firmly in your diary and start informing your club members. We will soon send a flyer asking members to book ( we are finalising the details but it will be $57 per person for a full sensual dining banquet, and nothing like you've ever seen or tasted before...it will really enlighten the senses...I'm extremely excited!).
