SDPC Vortec TPI Intake Assembly

This page covers initial transfer of parts from the stock TPI base to the SDPC Vortec TPI base manifold.

Stock TPI base as removed from the car, with BBK adjustable FPR fitted.

The bare Vortec TPI manifold, as supplied by SDPC.

All parts including fuel rails, injectors, EGR valve, etc, were transferred to the Vortec base without to many dramas. Red arrows at the front show where brass bungs were fitted for water passage holes not required with TPI.

Some filing was needed at the back of the manifold (indicated by the top red arrow) to allow for clearance after a trial fit of the distributor. The distributor hold down clamp also needed some mods, due to its different mounting on the new manifold it would not securely hold the distributor after a trial fit. Also note an extra brass bung needed to be fitted near the distributor, due to an additional water passage hole (not required for TPI) supplied with the SDPC Vortec base.
