The R/T Charger
was powered by Chrysler Australia's 265ci (4.3litre) Hemi 6 engine. The "six
pack" motor was fitted with three 2 barrel Weber carburettors, and heavily modified
to produce in excess of 300HP (225KW).. When produced, and for many years later, the E49
Charger was the fastest accelerating six cylinder production car in the WORLD. 0 - 60 MPH..... 5.4 seconds. 0 - 100 MPH..... 14.1 seconds. Standing 1/4 mile..... 14.4 seconds. Top speed......135 MPH |
