Feeling a need to work on something smaller, Michael chose to build a small English minimum space layout in O16.5 - 7mm scale 16.5mm gauge. The fictitious layout is based somewhere along tyhe Welsh and Northern England borders and serves a couple of towns with both feight and passenger services. The layout incorporates some of the features he remembers growing up in England
The layout was entered into the small layout competition at the 6th Australian Narrow Gauge Convention, and is a presented as an enclosed "shadow box" arrangement. There is a wealth of detail, and to my mind, the canal passing under the railway yard on a tunnel is a highlight.
