John Humphrey's current home layout is a freelanced lumber company branch-line, based on the real Montezuma Lumber Company line, which connected with the Rio Grande Southern at Dolores, in Southwestern Colorado.

The layout is theoretically set in 1905, but some favourite (and newer) locomotives do creep in. Constructed in Sn3 using hand-layed track the DCC sound equipped locomotives wander from the branch terminus at Camp 8, through the small towns of Crowley and Reynolds until they meet the RGS trackage in Dolores.

More information on John's current layout, his beautiful HOn3 predecessor, and the Rio Grande Southern, can be found on his RGS web site and you can visit Thomson, an On30 exhibition layout which was co-built by John.
