The Snake River Railroad Lumber Company is an exquisite layout in Nn3. Roger Hord has built his L-shaped layout almost totally from srcatch - not surprising considering the commercial support of the scale he is working in. The track and turnouts are handlaid, many of the locomotives are scratch built, as are most of the rolling stock and structures.

The railroad is freelance, set in the US during the early years of the lumber trade. Track is code 40 soldered to PCB ties periodically. The loco fleet consists of two K-37 class, one C-16, two 2-truck shays, one 3-truck shay and the Galloping Goose.

This model featured in the issue 10, Winter/Spring 2000 of the Narrow Gauge Downunder magazine. You can also visit the Nn3 Home Page for more information about modelling in this scale

As you look at the photographs remember that these models are not O scale, not even HO scale, but built in N scale.
