MERCURY Mercury (V=0.7 diameter=8.5" phase=33%) is visible shortly after sunset.
HERE is a MIDI Continuum image from the SOHO site...Mercury is the tiny dot halfway across and below the center of the Sun.

Elongations of Mercury HERE

VENUS
Venus (V=-4.3 diameter=22.3" phase=87%) dominates the evening western sky. Venus is in Gemini next to Pollux (V=1.2).
Venus is "easy" to see in the daytime if you know exactly where to look. But avoid the Sun! Get in the shadow of a building.
MARS
Mars (V=+0.8 diameter=6") is visible in the morning sky in Pisces between the great square (Pegasus) and Cetus. The bright red planet stands out in this area of the sky.
JUPITER
Jupiter dominates the eastern sky at sunset, at magnitude -2.6 outshining first magnitude Antares.
You would get a real kick out of watching the four galilean satellites (Io, Europa, Ganymede and Callisto) through binoculars. And with a small telescope you can watch their ever changing eclipse phenomena and become as fascinated as Galileo when he discovered them in 1610... Very interesting!.
SATURN
Saturn (magnitude +0.5) is in Leo near Regulus (+1.4). The rings are 39"x10" and the planet is 17"x15".
