I started this site, in 1996,to be just one Dutch Australian Connection, on the internet.

Ik ben deze site begonnen, ongeveer 8 jaar geleden, als maar één Nederland-Australische verbinding.

In this photo, I am standing in front of the Welcome Wall, Darling Harbour, and am pointing to the names of my parents and myself.
In the year 2000, this was the wall beside what was called: Holland House, a temporary marquee, where the Dutch athletes and the media, often gathered, during the Olympic Games.

In deze foto sta ik voor de Welcome Wall, Darling Harbour, en wijs naar de namen van mijn ouders en van mij.
In het jaar 2000, was dit de muur naast Holland House, waar de atleten en de pers uit Nederland bij elkaar kwamen, gedurende de Olympische Spelen.

I have to admit to sometimes neglecting this site a little bit. For a while (and I was still teaching), finding lost relatives in Australia for people in Holland; meeting people from Holland here and showing them around; finding out information for those who wanted to come here; etc., became too much like an unpaid job.
Even though it was MOST enjoyable, playing detective, finding people, or acting as tour-guide, showing people "my Sydney".
I still don't mind doing these things. Feel free to ask. But in moderation. :-))

Ik moet bekennen dat, sinds ik deze Site begon in 1996, ik het steeds meer verwaarloosd heb en met veel andere zaken bezig geweest ben op het internet.
Het werd trouwens een beetje veel. Al dat zoeken naar verloren families en bekenden van Nederlanders en helpen met advies voor Nederlanders. Het was / en is alleen maar een zeer gezellige en interesante hobby.
Toch vind ik het natuurlijk nog steeds leuk te kunnen helpen.
