Q 1. How did I get my shop so big?
Like everyone in Neopia, I started small so please keep in mind that it takes time to build your shop up. There are no legal "get rich quick schemes" in Neopia!
When a shop becomes large enough it becomes listed in the "Neopian Market Place." That is, it becomes easier for other players to find.
So prior to getting there, there are a few things you can do to get people to visit your shop:
Keep your prices as low as possible on the "shop wizard".
Remember to ask the wizard 2 or 3 times to search for the same item to get a true cost.
You will find most times there will be sizeable difference in the results.
Go for low profit high turnover if need be.
Ask another player who already has their shop listed in the Market Place to add a link from their shop to yours.
Choose the position of the shop carefully and select one that you think is easy to find and has a good range of items in stock.
Then Neomail them and politely ask if they would place a link to your shop in their shop.
Advertise in the "Shop Ads" section of the Chat Boards.
Promote your shop as much as possible but please do not spam the boards with repeated ads. Make your ad interesting and don't make false claims.
Be honest and friendly.
Become familiar with the "high profit" items.
Do your best to stock items that other players are stock piling to keep the prices high. There are many of these lately.
Scout around some of the other shops, check out prices of various items on the wizard and do your best to get some in your shop.
A combination of all the above should get you well on your way.
Please be aware that this is not the only way to do well, it is however, how I got to where I am in Neopia.
