U16's Blue

Frankston YCW 11.8.74 def Mt Eliza 3.12.30
The U16s were undefeated until the final home and away round when they were beaten by Mt Eliza by 5 points. They met Mt Eliza again in the 2nd Semi and were beaten by less than 2 goals in the mud.
This was the spark the team needed as they headed to the prelim final against Rovers. The boys really turned it on and easily beat Rovers by 10+ goals and were set for the rematch of the year.
The first quater was very even with both sides wasting opportunities in front of goals but the Stonecats were switched on and they tackled and harrassed aggressively. The 2nd and 3rd quarters were still very tight with the stonecats going into the last quarter up by about 2 goals. The teams determination & toughness at the ball was too much for Mt Eliza in the final term with the Stonecats kicking away with 5 goals to 1.
Peter Baker the coach was very proud of all the boys efforts and particularly highlighted that every player contributed and stood up when they were called upon.
A fantastic result to a team which has performed brilliantly for the past 3 years. Well done boys and we look forward to watching you play further roles within the senior club over the coming years.
Congratulations to AJ Fowler who was voted best on ground for the Grand Final.
