Just got back from my Alice Springs / Uluru trip yesterday. Gees, the sun is scorching hot there. I got sunburnt from just taking a short walk around town on the first day! Photos can be found in the photo section.

Was also my first day of uni today for my final year, can't wait until I graduate. The lecture was hella boring, I fell asleep 3 times in an hour.. can't believe I actually counted! Got another evening class tomorrow.. seems I'm going to be taking another nap tomorrow evening.

Don't you just hate it when you have a bad day? Mine was only half-bad. The interview today required me to bring a copy of my academic transcript, so I went to uni early and paid a shocking $20 just for a piece of paper. The lady wouldn't photocopy it for me so I asked for change to use the photocopy machine and she gave me all 5c coins. Just my luck that photocopy machines don't accept 5c coins. Ofcourse they don't, no machine whatsoever accepts 5c coins! So I went down to the UTS Union Shop and asked for some proper change. He refused to accept my 5c coins so I gave him a dollar and he turns to me with attitude "We don't give change to anyone, otherwise we won't have any change left for ourselves". What a prick. Talk about customer service.

I stormed out of the shop and walked all the way to UTS Library only realising when I got to the photocopy room that I didn't even bring my copy card with me. After all that, I had to walk all the way back to the other UTS Union shop on Harris Street. Not only is it half price there to copy, but they have great & friendly service. The guy who served me was a student himself and he treated me as if I was his favorite customer. I know where I'm going with my stationary needs in the future. My 1st copy didn't turn out right so he made a 2nd copy for me free of charge. I could hug him right then and there just for brightening my day. And he did just that. The interview turned out promising, they didn't even take a glance at my academic transcript and said she would be contacting me again. Came home to find an e-mail from IBM saying they would also contact me soon with more interview details. Opened a letter from UTS containing my new student card, and stuck on the corner was my CityRail concession sticker! Totally unexpected. I'm only studying part-time with 12cp, and the concession sticker requires a minimum of 18cp. Quite a compensation from today, I should think. Seems I'm gonna screw CityRail for another year ;)

Will be leaving for Alice Springs early tomorrow. Until then.. goodbye, goodluck, and happy days :)

Ok, what's so special about today? It's Valentines Day - "overrated, commercial and tacky" (quoted from Le's blog.. hehe I don't mean to steal anything). Well it's kind of true in most ways. Like what Barry says, it's a day for merchants to suck $$ out of your wallet. Everyone makes a big fuss of what gifts to buy, while the lonely people sit around at home miserable and watching television. Though I see it as an ordinary day, normal as any other: If you have someone to celebrate it with, great! If not, the day goes by unaffected like any other normal day. Though there are some upsides that just makes your day - receiving a love letter on Valentines Day. Sweet.
Something I'm proud of doing for this special occasion - organised a restaurant booking for my friend and his 'significant other' since he didn't have access to a telephone. Hope that turned out well.

Went to the Chinese New Year Parade at Chinatown today, then headed off to Clovelly afterwards and ate yummy nachos and went for an hour swim at the beautiful beach. Afterwards, Even drove around giving us a scenic tour around Maroubra, all of us ooh-ing and ahh-ing over the 3-storey houses by the beachside. Took some photos of the beautiful scenic views.

Had a fun night out with the uni buddies, celebrating the 22nd year of Vannha & Mike! Went to dinner at Canley, made fun of Barry's flipped out shirt, scaring Kiki & Bazz about the dangers of Cabra/Canley since we ate at a restaurant opposite to a store with a history of shootings/stabbings, ate the 2 delicious pandan & icecream cakes at Vannha's new and beautiful mansion, played poker (I <3 Poker!) and sang Sing Star.
