Aussies: Inside The Arena, repeated tomorrow (Tues 24th?) - WATCH! :) Monday, 23-Aug-1999 07:48:11 203.9.148.12 writes: Tony and special guest Andrew Denton give the 'new' (UK 98 series premiering Thursday) series of WL quite a bit of a plug :) They're obviously both fairly familiar with the show, and Andrew says that he in fact has worked with Ryan and Colin. "Improv is all about giving, unlike other acting... and those two guys were just so giving... I loathe them!" :) They played a clip of LMAD with the three responses (Wayne as a preacher, Colin as nervous driving instructor, Ryan appearing to get his big break) and discussed the show a bit. I was going to ask a question or two about it in the celebrity chat afterwards, but it was cancelled due to 'technical difficulties'. Anyway... back to watching the GNW debates. I might even spot myself in the audience somewhere (near the front centre of the balcony... i.e. probably way too far back to see!) Most of his episode seemed to revolve around sheep shearing and Australian soaps, but... :) He's also the only contestant I've actually got close to, being in Australia myself :) I've seen him performing as part of a Celebrity Theatresports night (might even join the Melbourne Theatresports Club eventually - I think he's involved with that...) Other more high-profile one-offs (George Wendt, Ardal O'Hanlon, Julian Clary) struggled on the show somewhat. Russell seemed unfazed by having seasoned improvisers like Greg, Josie and Ryan around him though as Mark said, he was subjected to Australian stereotyping in the games he performed.
