Starts: September 16 The Big News: Even the closing credits will become fodder for spontaneous comedic riffing in this improvisational hootenanny hosted by Drew Carey. Cast members will be asked to read the credits using various accents or poses — such as horse-race announcers or a couple coming home from a party. A live episode of The Drew Carey Show during November sweeps will require the Carey cast to improvise scenes in a potential crossover promotion for Whose Line. Who Stays: The original cast of regulars is back for another round of improv: Carey, Ryan Stiles and Colin Mochrie, along with pianist Laura Hall. Who Gets a Raise: Wayne Brady has been promoted to full-time cast member. The show will add guitarist Linda R. Taylor. Matt Roush (TV Guide critic) says: One of last season’s more pleasant surprises, Whose Line could become Where’s Line as it gets lost going up against NBC’s popular roster. But as inexpensive counterprogramming, it beats watching good pets go bad. Emile ------------------------------------------------------------------------ Message thread: Muran: Hey cool! Guess what? Regardless, I'm tickled pink that the credit reading is back. I'm happy all over. They're adding a guitarist? Every episode or not? Seems there's limited need for a guitar (and I just can't help but think that Richard Vranch could do both). Well, these changes seem to be for the better. Congrats to Wayne for his promotion. I still eagerly await season two! Scott R. ------------------------------------------------------------------------ Message thread: Muran: Hey cool! Guess what?
