I think for bit players, I like Denny Siegal best. (n/t) (10-Jul-1999 18:27:59) JennD : I am particularly partial to my fellow Canadian...Colin Mochrie!!! ( not saying that I don't like the rest of them too :) ) (n/t) (10-Jul-1999 19:07:07) Nick: I'd say Colin (#1), then Ryan and Wayne (it's *so* hard to narrow down). We definitely need more Denny though :-) (n/t) (10-Jul-1999 20:11:28) Locknestra: hhmmm, decisions, decisions, I think in my case the question is who *don't* I like! (n/t) (10-Jul-1999 21:13:33) Matt: Best regular performer - Ryan. Best occasional performer - Chip. :) (n/t) (10-Jul-1999 21:27:18) Adam: Who's Chip??? (n/t) (10-Jul-1999 21:42:11) Matt: Chip is... (10-Jul-1999 22:02:23) Molly, who hopes Denny gets more air time: Chip is a good one, but my faves have to be Colin and Wayne. I also like Ryan and Denny too. (n/t) (11-Jul-1999 01:16:39) Nick: Yeah, I wish he were on more. He was great in the games you mentioned. (n/t) (11-Jul-1999 12:31:21) Wayne: Re: Chip is... US-based now? (11-Jul-1999 23:16:21) Matt: I think that was a working holiday. I heard recently that he was due to star in some stage show in the West End soon, so I would guess that would make him British resident at the mo. :) (n/t) (12-Jul-1999 16:28:19) dana: favorites? so hard to choose, but i think i'd have to go with greg proops :) and of course i love denny, my fellow new york jewish girl! (n/t) (10-Jul-1999 22:15:37) Steph: You should say North American. Anyway, #1 Colin, #2 Greg, #3 Ryan. He is a classically trained singer who appeared in two isolated episodes in the UK (his debut was the finest WL? debut I've ever seen of ANY performer) and in between, did (thinks frantically back) three UK eps from New York. Though he is American, Chip is and has been UK-based for some years now and is a fabulous singer (he played Buddy Holly on stage for quite some time) who also had some fine one-liners in the acting games on WL?, though his songs (individually, in the Hoedowns, Psychiatrist and Bartender games) will always stick in my mind as the main source of his impact on the show. Ryan, Greg and Tony loved working with him (though he never got to appear with Colin) and he is one person I would love to see brought back to the show for another stint. Here's an example - Tony is angry about his jacket and has said so in his song to the Bartender, played by Chip, who responded thus: "Man you got reamed, when you went into that store, They said it was velvet, but it's only cheap floor; That salesman's good - that boy he is no slouch, He ripped that sucker right off his old couch." However, as I said, he could do the spoken word just as well. Scenes From A Hat suggested the situation "Arguing Over The Tip". Chip walked on and said: "I circumcised him - I get to keep it." This remains one of the best one-liners which I've ever heard on the show. Hope that helps! He was a supporting player (credited as Charles Esten) on the dreadful Brian Benben Show this past TV season. It lasted about a month on CBS.
