ABOUT ME!!!

Me in my natural state with my cousin's daughter!
Name: Lowenna (Cornish for Joy)
Nicknames: Lou,
Little one, Curly,
Dunkaroo, Wenna (Seems to be common at the childcare centres.) and
Crystal (according to my cuz Zac).
DOB: 10/06/1982 (22)
As
you may have guessed, I am now 22 and have been out of school for 4
years. I have done my fair share of study though, what with going to
University of Western Sydney (Milperra) for a year and doing my
Bachelor of Education (Early Childhood). Then Changing to Meadowbank
TAFE the following year to do my Child Services Diploma.
I attended Meadowbank TAFE for 2 years, and met lots of wonderful
people. Now I am currently attending the University of Wollongong doing
my Bachelor of Teaching/Education (Early Childhood/Primary), of which I
am halfway through. I am also living down in Wollongong now (Corrimal), which is a
big change, having to move out of home, but I managed to do it with the
help of family and friends.
I am the oldest of three children and have found it interesting over
the years. My brother Owen, is 20 and now in his 2nd year at Bathurst
Charles Sturt Uni, doing his Bachelor of Education (Primary), and is
enjoying it immensely living on campus.
My little sister Kerensa is 17 and just about to start year 12 at
Carlingford high School, and I am sure is enjoying not having myself or
my brother around to bug her.
Living in Wollongong has been an interesting experience, I miss my
boyfriend Nick, my friends and family while I am down there. although I
do sometimes come home for work and to see them all again. I'm sure it
has been hard on Nick as well. We have been together for the past 3 and
a bit years.
You may have noticed the link on the main page for the Cornish
Association. Well that's because my family is Cornish. My ancestors
came from 'Cornwall'. If you don't know where that is , it is at the bottom
of the UK, next to England (or the foot as they call it). My name 'Lowenna' (usually
spelt 'Lowena') is Cornish and it means 'JOY". I don't know many others
with my name outside Cornwall, I have found a few on ICQ from the Phillipines but that's
about it. My sisters name 'Kerensa' is also Cornish. 'Kerensa' means
"LOVE'.
My family and I have been going to Cornish functions since I can
remember. It is a part of my heratige that I have been blessed to grow
up with. Although it did mean travelling around Australia a lot and
missing out on school sometimes. I started learning to speak the
"Cornish' language (which is a dead language, although it is coming
back into schools in Cornwall now.) when I was about 7 or 8. I'm still
not very good at it, but as time goes on, I am sure I will get better.
Favourite things:
- My favourite colours are yellow and purple.
- I love whales
and pigs
- My favourite Disney movie is 'Beauty and the Beast'.
- I love reading, going to the movies, hanging out with my friends, and
playing soccer.
- I also like looking after children.
