Disturbance in the force....

Had lunch with a friend at market city the other day, we were talking about how we could sense a disturbance in the network of friends  .......

Chicks Driving Supra's

Not just any chick, an asian chick. I got beaten down by an asian girl in Supra last night, the shame. That money i had stashed away is starting to look good for a stage 1 upgrade to my Skyline >:P

Me: Hi, how yah been?

Person: Great! yada yada yada ..... oh and where's Milli?

Me: She's in Canada for 4 weeks, for her cousin wedding.

Person: I see, soooo..... when are you guys going to get married?

(variation 3) Me: You see, we've been married already with 2 kids.

Business Trip

I've been in Newcastle for a mini business trip last week. Although being there 2 days I give the town allot more credit than what its worth, besides getting all cable channels in my hotel room and i mean "ALL" cable cahnnels. Around town I noticed the forshzzillion developments and new trendy apartments by the water front, though I'm told they wouldn't be too far off Sydney prices.

I actually think Newcastle is a pretty cool place, sort of reminds me of Melbourne with the old style Victorian building blended in with modern architecture, street art,  trendy cafes and pubs every where you go. It could even be live able, its very peaceful, many great eating places, nice beach, nice people &  not to mention nice sunsets.

Concerns

Milli,

I hope you're have a good time in Canada & Europe. The dogs have been keeping me good company at home.

I had the fright of my life last week concerning Bing & Rusty, well it was more Rusty than Bing. As smart as Dobermans are this one decided to run into a concrete pylon clipping the edge and hurt himself. He pretended it didn't hurt so we continued our stroll to the park where he then decided the pain was too much for him and didn't want to walk no more, he even gave me those pathetic sad puppy dog eyes and lying down like he was in so much pain. I felt so bad so I decided to pick him up (mind you a 40kg dog) and carried him back your place, he wouldn't stop crying all the way. Feeling extremely worried  I called Janet and she was nice enough to come over around 11pm to inspect him . I'm not sure what annoyed me more, the fact he started walking normally even running after Janet inspected him like nothing ever happened or the fact he made me carry him a block home. Anyways, the dog is fine...... its just a big sook !!!

Also, the Black fish is sort of swimming sideways.

love,

Matt.

Woo Hoo...

It has taken me 3 weeks, a new motherboard & power supply, but I finally got my computer working again ... farq!

Well back to playing Farcry again :)

What's been happening

Thredbo was awesome - best season in 10 years, besides the snow, I slept allot that weekend, though i did hear the girls managed to get extremely drunk, put on a dirty dancing show & pick up a couple of Sefton guys. Besides the partying at Thredbo Village, the company was excellent and manage to pick up a stray on the way back to Sydney. FUN FUN FUN!!!! (bit of an in joke))

Possibly of heading back down for one last time on 11th Sept doing Perisher Blue.

Recently watched Debbie Does Dallas the Musical, it was educational!

I'm house minding for GF + family for the next 3 weeks. Will be living by myself along with a snake, spider, fishes & two pushy dogs. The brown dog especially, constantly poking you for pats & affection, I can see where the dog gets it from!!!

I've been a bum at home for so long having mum cook for me, i realise now its hard to think about what to cook for dinner after work & sports, but I have to admit my cooking isn't half bad. I made enough pasta tonight to feed me for the next 2-3days.

Work

the last month at work has seen me jump from my cushy planning job at Redfern to a managing role in the city, how did this come about? Apparently my name was mentioned in a directors meeting, as a  result you become a wanted man, or as my work mate put it, the directors bitch!

Feeling?

Very sick! Have a sore throat, coughing, cold feet, cold fingers, tired - probably cause I was stupid enough to spend 3 hours at the gym. Don't think exercising while your sick is a good thing. Surprisingly there were a lot of people at the gym on a Sunday - Fitness First in Sylvania they have a 25m pool !!!

Titan2

For the first time this year I went clubbing at One World sport. TITAN2 was the name of the party, and recently I had a link  sent to me with photos that made it seem like a snippet of some soft porn show. It was a good night except for the fight that broke out involving broken glass bottles, apparently over one of the 'Sir3n girls' .

A friend seemed very well acquainted with of the girls (described as the run-down looking one), I was told that he managed to get some grinding action with her on the podium for the last three Sir3en events, this is probably how rumors start.

Off course I was well behaved :) as I always am on a clubbing night. I've been told I give off "I'm taken, I have a girlfriend, go away" dance signal ...... hmm, need to observe how "the single" people dance. Well I have a chance at the next clubbing event THE LOTTERY - "where you can pick up a lucky number" - Kev, Boges & Dre.

Up Coming events?

- Skiiing Thredbo in 2 weeks and counting ...woo hoo!!!

Investing for the future

I've recently been inspired to read "Rich Dad Poor Dad" series of books by Robert Kiyosaki, not having any sort of financial background I find it quite refreshing, my goal in life is now to retire young and be financially free, but at what cost?

"Some girl" pointed out, I'm at an age where I should seriously consider going overseas to work ...... I asked why? She said, " Otherwise you'll be too old, you'll have issues with Work Visa's, go for the experience? ". I thought about it, and it doesn't really bother me, I could go through life not having to had the experience of working overseas and it really wouldn't bother me at all. What is it that appeals to everyone else? I guess it really does come down to your own personal values.

At the same time, I was lecturing her to give younger guys a chance .... treat them as an investment.

Anniversary

A guy at work recently took the plunge and got married 3 month ago, he told me he's been celebrating their anniversary every month for the last 7 years since they've been going out. Is that the key to a long term relationship? My 5 year anniversary is approaching and I look back at all the ups and downs we've been through, I still don't think there's any secret to a long term relationship. But being able to communicate and being honest about your feeling to each other works. Though we have our bad days:

*ring ring ring*

me: I've only had 5 hour sleep! who the heck is calling.

*pick up mobile*

me: hello (in sleepy voice)

her: hey hey, I just realised ...... I can't meet you at 1pm today. I promised my brother I drive him somewhere?

me: oh, where?

her: I dunno!

me: oh, when will you be done?

her: i dunno!

me: oh, where you going again?

her: i told you!

me: oh, so you don't know where your going or at what time?

her: YES, don't you listen!!!

me: oh, ok .... you sound un-friendly!

her: Cause you don't Listen!

me: oh, I'm really tired

her: I'll TTYL then!

What's New?

- I got selected to work on a  high profile ministerial project.

- I got to climb the Harbour Bridge for the second time

- I own a piece of land in WA

- Added some "unseen photos" from Asia trip 2003

Time Flies

This past week a couple of things has really made it obvious I’m getting wiser and quieter with my old age.

It seems like a blur, i remembered last weekend Millicent & I was double dating again with Shuai & "Some Girl". It started out as a nice outdoor patio lunch in the eastern suburbs then relocating indoors from the chilly breeze. It was a nice lunch with viet rolls and having a few laughs over past events, current goss & future events. I sat there and could easily imagine 20 years from now I’ll be doing the exactly same thing.

Shopping for a friends quarter century birthday present is another thing that made makes you feel old, you wonder the time shopping for a friends wedding present is just around the corner. I spotted a small Shiseido tub of anti-aging cream (the size of a fudge container) at Myers for $390 *shite*, I thought the price was a stock number.

Last Friday night, on the way heading home at 10:30pm we stopped by GAS nightclub talking to some friends that were lining up, the look of all the young faces brought flash backs of early clubbing memories. The scene where everyone’s dressed to impress, checking each other out, the hotted up cars parked outside, people on the mobile finding their friends and trying to jump the queues. In my younger days, I would have started getting ready to go out by this time, but 'no' when my body says its tired i listen these days.

Spent this weekend relaxing at home, been feeling pretty tired, felt good to sit back in front of the TV and watch some  DVDs. Its $15 to watch a movie in the cinemas these days ...what's up with that? Went to the driving range to have a hit with my new Callaway golf irons & they're soooo... suuweet!

Hyams Beach!

Went away for the long weekend to a place where it claims to have the "Whitest sand in the world" according to a Women's Day article, how true that was, it was so damm white! It'll be a nice place to come back when the weather is warmer. In comparison to other weekends away, i have to say our chilling pad would have to be the best by far - Thanks to Millicent *mwah* but its also probably the laziest holiday i've had. I did manage to build a sand castle that resembled a giant breast and had some D&Ms on the beach.

however, it was a pity most of that long weekend was spent in front of the Xbox not to mention eating, eating eating and more eating ..... and it wouldn't be a holiday if it wasn't topped off with a final meal at HABIBS in Bankstown.

Highlight

Lying on the beach star gazing into the sky, Its amazing the sight of millions stars on a cool winters night, something  us city folk can't see too often.

The excellent food mostly whipped up by Iron Chef xtn. ranged from Viet spring Rolls, Japanese Pancakes, Roast Pork Dinner, Pasta and Bacon & Eggs.

Downfalls

me: die you alien fools die .... eat my plasma grenade

*front door opens*

*screaming from the distance*

her: MATTY ..... do you love me?

me: what she on about?

her: mattttttty.........i have to tell you something

me: i'm busy killing aliens deary (thinking - it can't be that bad whatever shes done)

her: there's something i need to tell you.........

me: yes dear, let me kill this last alien dude.

her: oh..... okay

Ding: No, wait, she really does have something to tell you!

*scramble for the pause button*

me: *hpmft* okay what is it?

her: well ..... you know your tiny camera of your?

me: you mean my little blue Casio z4

*she points to the table*

her: you know how small the pockets are in my jumper ....... well it kinda fell out & into the water at the beach.

*I take a closer look at my camera lying on the table*

*this is definitely not looking good*

....... thanks Yui for those ebay links you sent me on Tuesday morning!

What a week!

A first for me, last Friday I was at work for 14hours,  majority of the week was spent preparing a major event. Bet you didn't expect that from a public servant, let me say your hard earnt taxes haven't gone to waste. I haven't felt this buggered since that first day I spent in Malaysia, coming from an 8 hour flight straight into the clubbing scene, memories of losing my hearing for 3 days due to loud music.

Anyways, the Athens Torch Relay came into town, my role to supervise traffic operations on the day, starting at the crack of dawn from when it arrived at Sydney airport at 5:30am to when it took off for Melbourne at 8pm.

Most people would have seen some coverage of it, whether it be of Cathy Freeman, police escorts, Athens Olympic Officials, corporate advertising, media coverage, SAMSUNG chicks, thousands of spectators or the torch bearers. Little would you think about the people behind the scenes,

My day made up of telling Tow Trucks to move 200 cars & 3 boats out of the way and causing traffic chaos throughout Sydney by giving green light corridors to the torch bearers. Main highlight - two police sergeants had closed George St off for 30mins longer than what they were supposed to. Watching The two police on RTA cameras they decided they had enough and left, they also forgot they left barriers behind blocking traffic at George St. I think that sent Parramatta Rd, King St & Cleaveland St to Buggery for some time!

Weekend

I gave up clubbing on Saturday night at Tabu for a quiet night of Mahjong ....

Had a $5 Steak at the Strawberry Hill Hotel....... not bad surprisingly !

Managed to do oil change, air filter change & radiator flush on the Skyline ........ so its now fully sic .....

think I will definitely sell it next year ......

New Website Take #2

Here we go again, a second attempt at redoing my website.

There were allot of things about  my first site I didn't like and was probably better off making a fresh start.

If you had the opportunity to browse through my first web attempt, you would have found I made it hard for most people to navigate through to my 'blogging' section, which probably on one occasion was done on purpose for some reason I can't remember :p but there wasn't much to read except for day to day bickering about my fiends and my first attempt at writing a trashy romance novel.

Since stupid me accidentally hit the save button during my new edits - previous attempts at blogging are all lost ...... as Milli would say "You're a clever boy Matt" in her own sarcastic way.

Interesting Happenings

I was helping out a guy after work hours last week reviewing cases of complaint letters sent to the RTA, not that I minded being paid overtime rates. These letters were from members of the public who were not impressed their vehicles had been towed for parking in a 'Special Event Clearway' and not being able to find their cars for at least several days. My work mates and I just find it amusing at how bad some of these letter actually are, knowing that these people have spent a great deal of their time writing them. Mental note, fix work ethics (for the 80th time).

Challenges

I went to 'PRIME' for fine dinning last Thursday with Millicent and double dates Shuai plus "some girl". This is the last year PRIME is going to be in the Entertainment Book so it was a definite must try, and was it worth it ........ ohh yeah! :)

Let me just say 880g of T-Bone actually means 880g it felt like I had half a cow sitting on my plate, not to mention I've never tasted a steak that GOOD. I think manage to get through 500g of it before I started distributing the remains across to Milli & Shuai.

If you ever have a spare $40 in your wallet, give this place a try!!
