Erika’s Glögg

The following Ingredients will make approximately 1½ Litre of Glögg.

• 1 Bottle (1.5 litre) Red Wine ( Tyrrell’s flat red or similar)
• 2 large piece of Cinnamon
• 10 Pods of Cardamom
• 10 Whole Cloves
• 1 large piece of Ginger
• Some dried orange peel (1/4 of 1 Orange)
• 1/4 cup or 50ml of sugar
  

Pour the wine in large enamel or steel pot. ( Not Aluminium or Plastic )
Add all above ingredients, heat to +80c, let stand in the pot covered for at least 1 hour,
then strain the liquid to remove residue, if more potency is preferred add 200 ml of Vodka,
Shortly before serving, add raisins and slivered almonds to the Glögg and reheat.

Caution: "do not let the mixture come to boil"
