Later on John (i)(a) purchased more land in the area, consisting of a large circular vineyard.

Mrs. Gladys Perring, wife of James Edward Perring (i)(a) who was a brother to George Perring (i)(a) still lives on the original property.

George Perring Snr (i)(a), was a renowned athlete in the 1860s and 1870s winning many events at sports and carnivals in many country towns around New South Wales, and in later years, he would ride his horse in a race and then foot race all comers.
He became a well known race horse breeder, with a string of horses winning races as far a field as Victoria. He boasted of 354 wins, 43 seconds and 21 thirds for horses bred by himself and his brothers on the Clarence, in his 50 years of racing. He also was never beaten in the show ring with blood horses. 5 descendant families live on the Clarence River, others further a field.
