Well, I don't really like blowing my own trumpet but I shall conform to the norm and do so anyway!! If you do not wish to be bored out of your wits, you are welcome to leave this site now by clicking here: EXIT
Ok, still here? Let's begin!
The city I've been calling
home for the past 18 years has been Sydney!
Actually, two years ago I moved from my home in Emu Plains (55 kms west
of town) to Parramatta (about
25 km west of the city). And before I ever laid eyes on this beautiful
country, I lived Germany, Solingen
(pop. approx. 163,000) located not far from Düsseldorf or Cologne
in the state of Nordrhein-Westfalen.
UPDATE: Due to the death of my mother on 11/11/03 ;-(( I have now moved back to my family home in Emu Plains.
I
will not go back to 1968, the year I was born, so the age of 15 is most
significant to me as my life was totally uprooted when my parents made
the decision to move the whole family to the other side of the world -
AUSTRALIA
!
I thought the idea was a bit crazy at first - why Australia? Why not Luxembourg or something cozier like that ? So my parents, my older brother, younger sister and myself and a big container full of furniture came to this weird land full of creatures that hop around aimlessly. And I AM referring to kangaroos here, ok ? ;-)
To cut a very long story short, making a complete new start, as a teenager, in such a strange country was extremely difficult at the beginning but I think I've coped ok and I now love this place with all my heart.
I've had the opportunity to go back to the old land several times in the past 20 years but it's just not the same. Australia is such a beautiful country in both landscape and people and, believe me, it really is the greatest place on earth !!
I do enjoy travel and have been to most countries in Europe incl. the UK, Italy, Switzerland,Austria, Belgium, France, the Netherlands, and for something different, Hawaii, but there is still so much to see in this great wide world and I'm not done yet with traveling because it's such a great eye-opener!
Ok, photo time !! The pic below
gives you a rough idea of what the area around here looks like, ie. overlooking
Nepean River and Victoria Bridge.

Parramatta
... and here are the famous
Three Sisters in Katoomba
(Blue
Mountains), approx. 100 km west of Sydney and also Neapean George overlooking
Nepean River.

Why not
another photo
?!?
Below is a shot of Solingen, Germany!!

And what do I do for a living? Well, following my graduation in 1991 from the University of Western Sydney with a BA in Interpreting and Translation, I took on several temp jobs both here and in Germany but since 1995, I have been working as an executary for a large German company and I'm still there now!
I am a fairly flexible and very easy-going person and enjoy most things in life. I do like going out and meeting people, listen to a lot of music, go to concerts and movies, swimming, bushwalking and also powerwalking along Nepean River (pic above) and occasionally will read the odd book or two. And the Internet is also in there somewhere!
I have met so many nice and wonderful people on the Internet, it would be unfair to mention any of them and forget others! So, to avoid that, I'd rather say HELLO to ALL of you!!
Hey, you didn't think you could
get away without looking at another photo, did you?? Ha! Here's the bad
news: ANOTHER PHOTO! Actually, not much of a description here apart from......well
you can guess who this is !

Well, I hope you have enjoyed reading a little bit about myself and I also sincerely hope that you will drop me a line and provide some feedback on how I'm goin'!! Just sign my guestbook - a reply is guaranteed !
