Scepticism overcame me at first when Centerlink enrolled me on a program to help with my jobsearch training. The thought of regressing 14 years and working in a printing factory seemed depressing, why the industry is turning their back on seasoned veterans is a question many of us are finding hard to answer.

Bogusia, a highly educated, elegant, european lady who has personally endured the prejudices of the employment market is the most charismatic and understanding person I've had the pleasure of meeting since I arrived in Brisbane 5 years ago. She has lifted my spirits, motivated me, shared personal experiences and most importantly, had the courage to tell me that it took 20 minutes of conversation before I smiled.:) As she said, if she's one in a million that leaves 16 positions vacant in Australia and I am sure that the other individuals mentioned on this page fill the remaining slots.

David, the program co-ordinator is another individual that deserves my utmost respect. His tireless effort identifying flaws in job seeker characters, grammer and technique without creating negative or ill feelings must be regarded as a valuable asset in any organisation. Anyone having a hard time keeping the chin up during their unemployed phase should enroll, they have helped well beyond the call of duty.
