are invited to apply for a

Northern Sydney Health Promoting Schools

Seeding Grant 2009

 

Closing Date for Applications

              Friday 12th June 2009 @5.00p.m

Grants are available up to $1,000

To be eligible to apply for a Northern Sydney Health Promoting School Seeding Grant your school must be located in one of the following local government areas:

Hornsby - Ryde - Mosman - Ku-ring-gai - Warringah - Lane Cove - Hunters Hill - Pittwater - North Sydney - Manly - Willoughby

 

 

Schools can apply for amounts up to $1000 in one of the five seeding grant categories:

 

1. Physical Activity

 

2. Injury Prevention

 

3. Healthy Eating

 

4. Connecting with parents

 

5. Other health issue important to your school

 

Student Representative Councils and P&C Associations

are strongly encouraged to apply

 

Projects funded in 2008
The 2008 Northern Sydney Health Promoting Schools Seeding Grants were very successful. A total of 54 applications were received from government, catholic and independent schools. Twenty seeding grants were awarded.
Examples of projects funded include:
         school fruit and vegetable gardens (nutrition)
         play/sports equipment (physical activity)
         social learning group (social skills improvement)

National Safe Schools Framework  (pdf)
