Hi
everyone and welcome to Winter.
To all our dedicated Life Savers who
patrolled for the season, a
huge Thank You. Over the season our club patrolled
1217 hours.
Congratulations
to Ken Peters and
Maddie Clarke for being
awarded Senior and Junior

Savers of the year.
DROMANA BAY L.S.C.
PIER SWIM.
Well its that time of the
year again when we start to organize our next Pier
Swim. This year the swim will be held on 3.2.07. Already we have a major
sponsor which is the Bendigo Bank who have sponsored us for $500.
If anyone would like to
help this poor understaffed Secretary send out letters for sponsorship please
give me a call. I would be eternally grateful.
GREAT NEWS!
The Bendigo Bank has
granted us an allocation of funds to purchase a new IRB. An awards night is to
be held on the 21.6.06 at the Rye Civic Hall at 7pm. Please come along and show
your support for our club
ANNUAL GENERAL MEETING!
The
Annual General Meeting for the Dromana Bay
Lifesaving Club will be
held on 22.7.2006 at
Ken and Nola Peters Home,
51 Charles St Dromana. at
1.00 pm.
This is an important
meeting for our club and its future
direction and we hope you
can all come along and maybe take up a position on the committee.!

NEW CLUBROOMS.
Over the last few months, we have been involved in
meetings with the Shire, Scouts ,LSV and the Foreshore
Committee regarding our new clubrooms. We are now at a
stage where we are meeting with the Dromana scouts so we can put forward a
proposal that suits us, them, and the
community. From there the proposal will be drawn up by LSV
and submitted to the Shire for approval (fingers crossed). For this coming
season, we hope to be operating out of shipping containers to be located in the
precinct of the pier area thus giving us more room for storage and more
secure premises.
T.V.Stars in the making (not!)
On Wednesday 31st May, 3 brave lifesavers ventured into
the waters of Port Phillip Bay (Rosebud Pier) to provide water safety and
boating assistance for SBS who were filming a T.V.Series
called “Wilfred” to be aired in January 07 on SBS.
Although not appearing on camera and basically hanging
around the pier most of the day, Ken, Julie and Peter raised $200 for the club.
Assisting our members were Rosebud LSC who supplied boating and other equipment
and
Sorrento LSC who supplied and additional boat. Ask Ken
about the toilet paper episode, it’s quite amusing!
Social
Gathering!
Nola has arranged for a
social swim and lunch to be held at Pelican Park Aquatic Centre in Hastings on
16.9.2006.
We will meet in the
carpark at 10.30am, have a swim and then stay for lunch. Hope you can all come!
