What sort of swim wear is
allowed in competition?
BOYS
Boys swimming in any competition, that is,
a race for a specific age group must wear one costume that covers, at most, the
body surface from hips to knees.


GIRLS
Girls swimming in any competition, that is,
a race for a specific age group must wear one costume that is of "open
back" and "open shoulder" design that may extend down to the
knee. One or two-piece costumes are permitted.



BOYS and GIRLS
Generally the costume:

Must be in good
moral taste
·
Suitable for the
individual sports discipline
·
Must not be transparent
or go transparent when wet
·
Must not have a
zipper or any other type of fastening system
·
Must be made of
textile material (and not be made of any non-textile material such as
polyurethane or neoprene).
Please watch
lighter colours as these do have a tendency to go transparent especially as
they age.
The Referee has the authority to exclude
any competitor whose costume does not comply with the rules.
These
costumes are not permitted in any competition:





NOTE: Any FINA
Approved costume (look for the label), is suitable for any competition.
