Write a newspaper report based on a fairy tale.

Child Vandal Exposed

Reporter: Wendy J. Dunn

Bringing to an end a court case that has sent shock waves through the kingdom of Far Far Away, Goldilocks received her sentence at the children’s court yesterday.

The court heard how Goldilocks broke into the home of Mr (Papa) and Mrs (Mama) Bear while they were out walking with their son, B.B. (Baby Bear).  Apparently, the Bear family found their morning porridge too hot to eat. They decided to let it cool and give their healthy breakfast an additional edge by partaking in exercise.

Little did they know that Goldilocks lurked nearby, waiting for the moment to strike. “I was lost,” Goldilocks said in her defense, her angelic appearance belying a true criminal mind. In fact, the court established the delicious smell of porridge drew Goldilocks from her hiding place to break into the home of the bears - an easy enough feat as the trusting bears had left their front door open. Goldilocks claimed she knocked on their door, but the court expressed doubt that she did this. Her subsequent actions suggest otherwise.

Once inside the kitchen of the Bears, Goldilocks tampered with not one breakfast, but with three. She said the first two porridges were too hot to eat, but she ate all of Baby Bear’s porridge.  Not being satisfied with this misdemeanor, Goldilocks then vandalized the home of the bears. After interfering with the chairs of Mr and Mrs. Bear, she destroyed the chair of BB.

Goldilocks claimed she acted out of character after the honey made her high on sugar, asserting, too, this was the cause of her next action. Coming down from her sugar high, Goldilocks sought for somewhere to sleep.

Messing up first the bed of Father Bear and then Mother Bear’s, Goldilocks alleges she lapsed into a sugar coma in the bed of BB.

BB said in his victim statement, “Goldilocks tasted my porridge, and ate every bit! She sat in my chair and broke it all to pieces, and then she fell asleep in my bed.”

Traumatized about these events, BB has been unable to sleep in his bed ever since.

This Break and Enter of the Bear home was not the only occasion Goldilocks was proved guilty of wrongdoing. The court was presented evidence by forest rangers who had taken photos of Goldilocks close to the property of the Bear family, proving her the culprit also responsible for picking protected plants in the forest.

The judge ordered Goldilocks to seek help for her sugar addiction and placed her on a 50 hour community service bond to help the forest rangers preserve our flora.

The Day of the Big Wind

What happened to you the day of the big wind? Write it either as a newspaper report or narrative.

I am an art piece

I feel art in my hair,

I wonder about the world of art,

I wish to fly in the sky,

I hear voices of art,

I see art,

I am an art piece.

I touch the paint I feel,

I worry that I will get taken off the wall,

I understand that people have their own world of art,

I pretend I am a swan,

I cry that people don't have imagination,

I am an art piece.

I want people to gaze and use their creative side,

I try to find a bright side to life,

I say to life we can have a creative side,

I dream of dancing on clouds,

I am an art piece.
