A student
of the late Zen Master Seung Sahn since 1979, Zen Master Sen Shin has been
ordained since 1990. In 1996, Zen Master Sen Shin received inka or
Dharma sanction from Zen Master Seung Sahn, authorizing her to give
precepts, lead retreats and teach kong-an study. In January 2006, Zen
Master Sen Shin received transmission, in Zen Master Seung Sahn’s lineage,
from Zen Master Dae Gak.
Born in
the United States, Zen Master Sen Shin became an Australian citizen in
February 2005. She is the Abbess and resident teacher at the Queensland
Zen Centre-Dae Kwang Sa Inc., a residential Zen Buddhist temple at Mt.
Crosby. Zen Master Sen Shin oversees the teaching at the Queensland Zen
Centre’s Nundah Zen Group and Gold Coast Zen Group
