Music & Movies.

What can I say - I love music and watching movies. So here goes, a discussion of all things musical and movie-like.

Music.

Basically I dig on electronic music. I have listed below a lot (of course not all!) of the stuff I'm into. Techno rocks - its structured, flexible and intelligent. It can also be chill or driving.

Did I say techno rules? I dig on all of it : Ben Sims, Marco Bailey, Glenn Wilson, Inigo Kennedy, Speedy J  and so on. Let's not forget Richie Hawtin, Jeff Mills and of course Dave Clarke.

Don't mind a bit of dirty drum and bass either. Grooverider, Roni Size, Ed Rush, Photek, LTJ Bukem and Adam F.

Can also get into a bit of east coast hip hop.

Wu Tang Clan, Mobb Deep, De La Soul and Gangstarr. Absolutely HATE west coast. Awful music, awful gangsta lyrics and generally awful production.

As an aside, I don't mind a bit of jazz.  Bill Evans, Herbie Hancock, Louis Armstrong, Oscar Peterson, George Gershwin.

Generally I'll listen to anything, other times I'll leave the room. People who know me, know when and where.

Movies.

I don't have a preference for a particular type of movie - I can enjoy whatever is it. But nothing pisses me off more than a badly acted or scripted movie. Steven Segal and Wesley Snipes for example absolutely SUCK. Anyway, enough moaning.

And here come my favourites, in no particular order:

Scarface. For the story, the acting and directing, the realism, the power...need I go on?

The Matrix. A sci-fi thriller like no other. A mass market Star Trek that is brilliant in every way.

Pulp Fiction. A fan of director Quentin Tarantino generally, I feel that this picture is so unusual yet so canny that it comes together perfectly.

Terminator 2. Much better than the first, simply because the story, the effects and magnificent acting performances make it a classic. The third will, once again, be shithouse.

Casino. Pescè and De-Niro in one room? Once again, unbeatable.

The Austin Powers Series - from one through three. Pissers!

Toy Story 1 and 2 - easily the best and most heart warming animated movies. Great.

Plenty more I guess, these are the ones that came to mind in 30 seconds of brainstorming.  Hope you like the Scarface wallpaper on this page!
