Well,
I spent a while studying finance, so I kind of
enjoy following the stock market. The interaction
of individuals in the pursuit of profit is like no
other. And you get to make money too! The most
practical links to get you started are:
Bloomberg - a US resource with international coverage.
CNN -
US futures and a range of other US and international information.
ComSec -
An Australian online broker with quotes, charting and watchlist.
Investorweb - an Australian website providing
financial information, news, research, forums and quotes.
I also enjoy technical
analysis, which is the study of human behaviour and the interaction
of buyers and sellers in the marketplace. It is based upon the analysis of stock
charts.
I have
also completed the Technical Analysis unit
conducted by the Securities Institute of
Australia.
If you are
interested in technical analysis and would like a A-Z summary check here.
Otherwise, my
favourite links below:
MarketMad -
a good resource for technical traders.
Stockcharts -
a US site with technical information on US indices.
The ATAA - a
member site for those wishing to join the Australian Technical Analysts
Association.
Sometime
this year I want to take up trading options and
futures again. I have done it before and while its
a little scary, the thrill and the opportunity to
make cash exists. Especially now, while the world
is in such a mess and markets are very volatile.
